More than 250 Hampton Roads arts activists turned out for the 2010 ALLI Awards on Sunday, November 14, to honor and recognize the creative beacons of the region's arts industry. Hosted by The American Theatre of Hampton, the Cultural Alliance gala was a red carpet affair that included entertainment by the professional company of TRDance. Todd Rosenlieb served as a most entertaining emcee.
The Cultural Alliance event was chaired by board member Nancy Rhode and underwritten by SunTrust Bank, providing a memorable day for all in attendance. Following the ceremonies the honorees were toasted at a reception with champagne and strawberries.
Volunteers in the region’s arts communities who were ALLI Award recipients include Karen Anderson Schwartz, for her creation and management of the “Buddy Art” program for This Century Art Gallery in Williamsburg.
